Using AI to support legacy systems and improve the Veteran experience
With over 19 million U.S. Veterans, legacy IT systems that manage VA health and benefits are often over-burdened, hard to use, and present unnecessary challenges to the men and women who served our country. What’s more, navigating antiquated systems to find necessary benefit policies and forms can be frustrating, time-consuming for many Veterans and even more daunting for those not comfortable using computer systems.
At Empower AI, we believe there is a better way – using artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities to boost performance of VA’s legacy systems to help deliver better health care and benefits to our nation’s heroes.
Implementing AI with Empower AI
Empower AI understands the VA mission – in fact, about 20 percent of our employees proudly call themselves Veterans who continue to serve the nation passionately through their work at Empower AI. This includes members of the development team for our Empower AI Platform® –a proven, American-made platform that is already in operation at federal agencies like the Department of Defense, the General Services Administration and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
By using simple, secure robotic process automation (RPA) tools and other hyperautomation technologies, the Empower AI Platform can harness structured and unstructured data and turn them into organized, comprehensive outputs that reduce errors and repetitiveness of administrative functions. These tools also can provide greater capacity for VA resources to focus on more complex initiatives necessary to support our nations Veterans, while decision-support assistants using natural language processing can make it easier for Veterans to find the benefit information they need in a timely manner.
