Our commitment

Empower AI designs, develops and supports information and communication technology (ICT) to meet Section 508 requirements, so the people who rely on assistive technology can use it fully. Accessibility is part of how we build and test, not a review at the end.

How this site is built

Federal systems get used by people with the full range of abilities, often on equipment they did not choose, and accessibility is a legal obligation for the agencies we build for. We treat it as part of the build rather than as a remediation pass at the end. On this site, that means:

• Every interactive element reachable and operable by keyboard alone
• Focus trapped inside dialogs, returned to where it came from on close
• Native HTML controls wherever one exists, so assistive technology gets the behavior it expects
• Text and background pairs checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios
• Motion honours the reduced-motion setting the visitor has already chosen
• Status changes announced to screen readers rather than shown only visually

We design and test this site to the Section 508 standards, which incorporate WCAG 2.0 Level AA, and we aim for WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

VPATs and documentation

To make sure documentation is easily accessible, Empower AI will post here all applicable Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs) and other documentation as required by GSA's Government-wide Accessibility Program.
